Welcome to the Bayern Munich Blitz Home Page. Bayern Blitz is playing U12-div1 in the Heartland League in OP, KS for Spring 2011. Below is the Blitz tournament schedule for Spring 2011.
Bayern Blitz is a highly competive team. Blitz has a long history of seeking out the most difficult competition in an attempt to grow as players and as a team. Over the past 3 years, Blitz has brought home 29 First Place, Championship or Finalist titles against the very best competition in the midwest. The emphasis has not been on winning. The emphasis has been on performing the skill correctly, applying the right tactics, and on teamwork. Correct application of these attributes has resulted in very positive results.
For the Fall of 2011, Bayern Munich Blitz will be advancing to the U12 age group and switching from 8v8 to 11v11 on the field. This means the Blitz will be adding up to 6 players during their tryout process. Players are expected to primary with Bayern Blitz, play in up to 4 tournaments per outdoor season, train during the indoor season, perform Blitz homework, attend practice 2 times per week, and participate in team building events.

Neither sleet nor snow nor gail force winds shall keep the Bayern Blitz from pursuit of a gold medal. The Emerald Cup provided a little bit of everything. Blitz faced their favorite foe, the Pink Panthers on Friday night. Having just defeated the Panthers under snow flurries earlier in the week, the Blitz was sure the Panthers would seek to even the series on Friday night. The game didn’t disappoint. Blitz departed with a 1-0 victory. Blitz completed the next 2 games with a win and a tie which allowed them to return to the finals where once again they faced the Pink Panthers. Bayern Blitz had rough start to the outdoor season in the Border Battle. They began their outdoor late Friday night around 9:30 pm with blowing snow under the lights. Blitz’s usual style of play proved ineffective as they were just wide here and just high there as their many shots on goal just didn’t go in. Their formidable foe, the KC Fusion Lightning defeated them 1-0. The 2nd game was a highlight for the tournament as the Blitz dominated Toro Hoorah 4-0. The Blitz needed a 2 point differential in the last game to move to the finals and they got caught playing up to capitalize on their 1-0 lead. The final score was a 1-1 tie and the Blitz traveled home unusually early.
Blitz rocked the house as they accepted their first place medals at the Comets game Friday night. Blitz went 8-0 in U11 Div 1 scoring 45 goals while allowing only 2.
