Reaching the finals of MO State Cup is no small feat, but Bayern Munich Blitz continued on their magical journey as they qualified for the finals and faced their long time rival, the Pink Panthers. It was sure to be soccer at its best as these two had earned the right to provide an all Kansas City final to the state of MO for the U13 Girls. The Bayern Munich Blitz broke out to a 2-0 lead at half time and were in the driver seat. The end was not to be as the Panthers tied the game with a few minutes left in regulation and then went on to win 4-2 in double overtime. It was a great final. Congratulations, Blitz on a fantastic finish and a fantastic year! You are all the greatest!
The storied run of the Bayern Munich Pumas ended in an overtime loss in the Semi-Finals at MO State Cup. The game was a very physical contest with the Pumas sporting a 2-1 lead with less than 7 minutes to go. The neutralizer occurred with only a few minutes left. As the game went into overtime, the Pumas dug deep to try to finish the game off. However, it was just not to be as the Pumas lost 3-2 when the final whistle blew. Coach Ricky Olivares said, "I couldn't be prouder of these girls. They truly left it all on the field today." Congrulations for your efforts and your finish Bayern Munich Pumas. You really do represent "Mia San Mia" well!

Bayern Munich Lightning went 4-0 at the KC Cup. With a strong defense, quick play, and outstanding stops by the keeper, they were able to record 3 shutouts in the tournament. The team put 13 goals in the back of the net and allowed one. The final match was a bruiser for a few of the girls and we wish for a speedy recovery. Congratulations Bayern Lightning for your hard fought win’s!
Blitz rolled into the Emerald Cup with some pent up energy after the cancellation of the Border Battle where the Blitz was the defending champion. Blitz took their first game with a last minute goal against Extreme Blue, always a good opponent. In the next game, Blitz played SLSG Premier to a 0-0 tie and then finished the pool play with a 1-0 win over the Blitz United Black from Oklahoma. In the finals, Blitz was to face TSC Hurricanes from Oklahioma. It was a physical contest with neither team earning a goal. The game ended with a shootout. The Blitz came up on the short end of the PKs this time as they came up a goal short. Congratulations on your toughness Blitz!
Bayern Munich Pumas Red felt they had something to prove in the Emerald Cup this year. They began with a slow start as they lost an evening heart breaker, a 1-0 to Prodigy Nationals. The Pumas came roaring back to take the WSA 2-0. The Pumas finished pool play with a 1-0 win over SLSG Barcelona. Pumas rolled into the final facing Blitz United Red and some rough weather. Unfortunately, the adjustments Coach Ricky made at half were not to be realized as the thunderstorms kicked in and the game was called 5 minutes into the 2nd half. The Pumas ended as a finalist. Congrulations on your efforts Pumas!
